It’s an exciting day for Studio A Marketing. I’m going to be on WBZ Radio, AM 1030 on the Morgan White, Jr. show from 10 – 11pm on Saturday, March 8. I’ll be talking about marketing, social media, and all the fun stuff we do … but, more importantly, we’ll be talking about some of our clients and the great services they offer!
I don’t know if it’s the law of attraction, but it’s been interesting to note that many of our clients are in the home improvement industry – probably because I’m so interested in what they do (I have a secret desire to be on HGTV). So tonight, Morgan and I will be talking about:
- How do you know if your remodeling project or addition needs an architect?
- Kitchen and bathrooms are the best places to invest money in your home. Do you need a kitchen/bathroom designer to help?
- The dos and don’ts of hiring a contractor – protecting yourself from a remodeling nightmare (we’ve all heard the stories of projects gone wrong!)
Preparing for a media interview can be a little nerve-wracking. What’s the best way to prepare?
- Do your research! There’s nothing worse than being live, on-air and having someone ask you a question that you’re not prepared for. Don’t let that happen! I know what topics we’re going to cover tonight, so I talked to my clients about their areas of expertise and did some extra digging on line to prepare for any “curve-ball” questions.
- I write everything down and prepare my own Q & A. I might not actually give it to the host (he knows his stuff already), but just the process of writing it down organizes all of the information in my mind.
- Practice! I’ve been practicing my answers aloud to smooth out the edges and make sure I’m not missing any key points.
- Recognize that those curve-ball questions will probably come up no matter how much you prepare. There’s no shame in saying “That’s a great question! Here’s what I know about that subject, but, I’m happy to put you in touch with an expert!”
Hope you get a chance to listen tonight! And if you have a home-improvement question, we’ll be taking calls on air: (617) 254-1030 or (888) WBZ-1030.
